The longest single prayerwalk I have done to this day was in Denmark, between Skagen and Frederickshaven. (42km)
I have not advertised the next walk because I felt something stirring in me. I wanted to make sure what the Lord is laying on my heart.
As I prepared for this walk; I more and more sensed the focus of the prayerwalk should be for our children - in the area of drug abuse.
This morning, on a prayerwalk, I prayed against drugs. I prayed that the grip that drug abuse has, would be broken. As I walked, and as I prayed this prayer, I could almost sense the resistance in the spiritual realm. This just confirmed to me that drug abuse has deep spiritual roots and we have to come against it in prayer.
I now challenge you to take time out this weekend and pray for the youth in your area. The youth in your church. The youth in your family. The youth in your home.
That they will be free from drug abuse. As you pray for this, I am sure you will also sense the oppression in this area in the spirit realm. Just pray and ask God to give you direction for this prayer.
My walk will be in Hastings, New Zealand. I plan to walk 50km, and the focus of that prayer will be for the Lord to show me many many (drug-abuse) areas into which I will be praying.
If you are personally affected by drug addiction or the addiction of relatives or friends, click here to write me now and I will pray for you (It will be confidential) on this walk.
True stories from prayer-walks and pilgrimages where the dust of the road meets the grace of God. From the forgotten paths of the Karoo to the ruins of Ghana, these are testimonies of divine whispers, unexpected provision, and gentle encounters that remind us every step is a prayer and every journey is led by Him. Step by step, footprint by footprint.
