I felt convicted to pray into the big way in which stores have been marketing haloween this year ... and for the response from the people in the stores (shops). Little girls being dressed up as evil witches, Boys with glowing devils-forks. It is just terrible!
I have mapped out a route which I have prayerwalked this morning and I am about to leave on the same route right after publishing this blog.
The route takes the shape of a spiral and circles out in bigger and bigger circles throughout this city where I live in. Eventually the spiraling ends on the beach ... BUT not the prayers.
This morning, as I prayerwalked this route, I didn't have (or use) much understandable words - I just let the Holy Spirit pray through me. This was a battle in the spirit-realm. The amazing deal in that is HE is doing the battle as we let HIM use us.
So Lord please use us.
Use me.
I am standing in the gap for this nation right now. Just praying Your will to be done here. Your love to be here. Your glory to be revealed in this city.
Your praises to be sung here.
and worship ...
sweet focused worship offered to You
Lord this day, we choose to worship You
We choose to give You our attention and our first thoughts.
I pray right now Lord Jesus (as I sing it):
Je - sus
be - e the cen-ter
be - e my all
Je - sus
Now I challenge every reader to just go out, before any trick or treat can be spoken over your home, and speak God's glory over your home. Speak God's holiness over your house. Pray for His presence to prevail over your home this day.
And pray against the satanistic rituals of haloween.
Lord Jesus
I pray that You will protect the many innocent children that will be exposed to satan's evil plans and schemes today and tonight.
I ask this in Your name Lord Jesus.
A - a - a - a - m - e - e - n
Can you almost hear me sing ...
I just sing to You Jesus ... We just offer to you a sacrifice of praise ... in songs
Just walking ... singing ... lead us on Holy Spirit
Come, walk with me ...
True stories from prayer-walks and pilgrimages where the dust of the road meets the grace of God. From the forgotten paths of the Karoo to the ruins of Ghana, these are testimonies of divine whispers, unexpected provision, and gentle encounters that remind us every step is a prayer and every journey is led by Him. Step by step, footprint by footprint.

Prayerwalk-prayer for the drug addict
Even if you don't know it, I saw the sun rise this morning. I saw a new day break.
I saw the sun break through the cloudy sky
like in a red hot open flame
giving freshness to the morning dew
and a crispy chill that burns through bones and cut through skin.
And I knew you made it through a-NO-ther day
Yes ... you are at the start of a new day.
You made it through YES-ter-day
Now come, let me help you through this day TODAY
Within the first few kilometers, as I started out on my 50km walk, I felt that I could go on for the whole day.
I felt fit and ready ... I felt light and bouncy
That was when I started to pray for you.
And I mean it when I say: I came under a real conviction to pray for some specific things.
Life is really really tough for those who have given in to drugs. Those who have been caught up in the addiction and who want to get out.
Doesn't it feel like: "The world is just watching you - waiting for you to make your next mistake."
Listen ... I don't know you, but I am praying for you. I know you made it through this day - and you have a new day ahead of you. Come, allow me to pray for you. Let me pray what is on my heart and let Jesus touch you.
Lord Jesus
I bring this precious person before You right now in prayer.
This is Your beloved child Lord God. You have planned his/her life and You still have dreams and plans for this life.
But there are so many who doesn't acknowledge that those plans and purposes are still valid. I know they are, that is why I pray for this person Lord. I ask Lord that You will reveal Yourself to him/her. I ask Lord that You will let him/her feel how much You love them and I ask that You will work in the hearts of family and friends and help them to be accepting ... and supportive ... and not judgmental.
Lord, I ask from you - for this person - another chance. Lord I pray that You will give this child of Yours another chance.
Lord, I ask that You will give this person the HOPE which You have given me. That HOPE which will assure them of the things to come - even though there are consequences to being addicted (in any way) to drugs, there is HOPE. Lord I pray that You will reveal to them the true HOPE ... YOU ...
Jesus, You are the only HOPE in these desolate situations. And You work through friends and family. That is why I pray that You turn the hearts of the friends and family towards the drug addicts right now Lord. Even where there are many who have given up ... You never give up - because You love us unconditionally.
Thank You Jesus.
Lord, I pray that You will send people across their paths to encourage them. (Yes my friend, you can do it!)
Lord, please come through in this situation in miraculous ways. Lord, I pray that You will work a miracle, send an angel or intervene divinely. Because this is an area where people are led astray and they need to get to know You as the Anchor in their lives.
Lord I ask that You will bring PEACE into many lives right now. Where fear of this unknown world-of-addiction can be so blinding, I pray that You bring PEACE and touch lives and hearts with Your peace right now.
Lord there are many children who are right now INNOCENT. I pray for them Lord. I pray that You will keep them from those wrong choices which so many people are sad to have made. I pray Lord that You will just hold our dear children safe from the agony and the pain which drug abuse can bring.
Lord I just pray for INNOCENCE in childhood right now.
Sweet innocent life-loving God-fearing children.
I pray this as a blessing to everyone reading this page: To return to that FIRST LOVE. The peaceful loving relationship that You have for each of us. Addicted to Jesus!
In Your name Lord Jesus, amen.
As I started walking the longest prayerwalk of my life, I prayed these words and the more I walked, the more intense the feeling of empathy became. Just know that I have prayed this over many lives and with all my heart. You may have lost some part of your life due to drugging activities, but you still have time left. This is a new day, take it step by step.
And be encouraged that somewhere someone IS praying for you.
I didn't manage to finish the whole 50km, I only managed to finish 32 ... it took me 4 hours to get there. And those hours were spent on praying for you my friend. Don't be scared, God is with you and I am standing in the gap, praying for you.
Here ... here is my hand. Let's go ... one step at a time
You will make it.
I saw the sun break through the cloudy sky
like in a red hot open flame
giving freshness to the morning dew
and a crispy chill that burns through bones and cut through skin.

Doesn't it feel like: "The world is just watching you - waiting for you to make your next mistake."
- You need support right now
- You need to know that people trust you to stay on the "straight and narrow"
- You need to step out and feel you have the opportunity to be trusted
- You need assurance and NOT critisism
- You need LOVE and not rejection
- You need support and not war
- You need to feel unconditional love and not mistrust
- You need to have your loved ones close and not hiding from you
- You need help from even unseen forces (God/angels)
- You are scared
- You are so bitterly scared you will do anything that anyone may say
Listen ... I don't know you, but I am praying for you. I know you made it through this day - and you have a new day ahead of you. Come, allow me to pray for you. Let me pray what is on my heart and let Jesus touch you.

The "don't do drugs" far prayerwalk
The longest single prayerwalk I have done to this day was in Denmark, between Skagen and Frederickshaven. (42km)
I have not advertised the next walk because I felt something stirring in me. I wanted to make sure what the Lord is laying on my heart.
As I prepared for this walk; I more and more sensed the focus of the prayerwalk should be for our children - in the area of drug abuse.
This morning, on a prayerwalk, I prayed against drugs. I prayed that the grip that drug abuse has, would be broken. As I walked, and as I prayed this prayer, I could almost sense the resistance in the spiritual realm. This just confirmed to me that drug abuse has deep spiritual roots and we have to come against it in prayer.
I now challenge you to take time out this weekend and pray for the youth in your area. The youth in your church. The youth in your family. The youth in your home.
That they will be free from drug abuse. As you pray for this, I am sure you will also sense the oppression in this area in the spirit realm. Just pray and ask God to give you direction for this prayer.
My walk will be in Hastings, New Zealand. I plan to walk 50km, and the focus of that prayer will be for the Lord to show me many many (drug-abuse) areas into which I will be praying.
If you are personally affected by drug addiction or the addiction of relatives or friends, click here to write me now and I will pray for you (It will be confidential) on this walk.

Song from a prayerwalk
Often, as I go prayerwalking, the Holy Spirit leads me to sing specific songs over an area as I walk through it. I wrote the other day about the trees and how He gave me such fresh revelation of how He made it to be pleasing to the eye. Now the song that came from that, is still mulling through my head, I even sing it in the supermarket! I share it with the whole world - just because of His love for us.
So sing with me ... telling Him how beautiful He made creation for us to enjoy:
Here are the words and sheet music copyright free. Just worship Him with it.

Beautiful to behold
Beautiful to behold
are the works of Your hands
Beautiful to behold
are the words that You speak
Beautiful beautiful
are the trees of the field
You planned it and made it
and said that it was good,
that's why we praise Your name
Beautiful to behold

Sweet sound of worship hit the walkers
I just returned from my "39 churches ... 1 hour ... 1 prayer" walk in Howick and Pakuranga in Auckland, New Zealand.
One thing which was on my heart while I walked through the area, was an "anchor". I focused on praying for the churches in the area to be places where people will get anchored. Places where the people from Howick and Pakuranga can come to get anchored in their spiritual lives. Anchored to the Word of God. Anchored to Jesus.
As I passed one church, it struck me that there was still parking space available. It really struck a chord in my heart and I prayed (and continue to pray) that the parking areas will fill up. That people will come to church, and your parking areas will overflow.
At another church their was the sweet sound of worship. I say "sweet" because it was how I perceived it - an aroma pleasing to the Lord. And as I passed, I could see that some of the athletes heard it and that they made comments about it. Filled with compassion, my prayer was this - that the sweet sounds of worshipful music will even touch the unbelievers and backslidden as they pass through in the area ... and that it will touch them in their spirit ... and make them "hungry" to know God.
Be blessed as you worship God in a wonderful unashamed way. And may you see a harvest coming from within your own community.
Lord Jesus, we just want to give You all the glory and honour. I just place You in the center of Pakuranga and Howick. You as the Anchor ... the Rock ... we have nothing else in life to turn to Lord. So I pray that the worship and the love of these 39+ churches will bring in more people to You. And that there will be a time of renewed intimacy with You Lord ... that people will once again come to their FIRST LOVE. And that there are those available to help anchor them in their faith.
In Jesus' name. Amen
Be encouraged brothers and sisters in the Lord, and know you are being prayed for; and that God is with you, as you are being prayed for from around the world.
And the race ... I did end up second in the Men's Open Category of the Walkers. (57min 48s - 10km) ...
Thank You Lord for talent, endurance, creativity, stamina and all those little things You have blessed me with. Right now Lord I think of the wheelchair-bound ones on this list. Lord I pray that You will bless them this day with a special surprise from Your Word. Lord I pray that as I used my legs which they couldn't - that you will bless them with something in their hearts which I as a walker wouldn't be able to grasp ... I pray that You just bless them with special special encouragement from Your Word, as they read it (today).
Thank You Jesus
Amen.

39 churches ... 1 hour ... 1 prayer
A new day will break on 15 October.
And it will be a new morning.
And ...
the mercies of the LORD will be new
... still fresh, as we start the prayerwalk.
I have one thing on my heart for this walk: it is to pray for unity among the 39 churches along the way. That they will step into peaceful and supportive relationships. That the bride of Christ will be ONE BRIDE ... and even as we worship in our different ways, we will be accepting towards other denominations. Loving and supportive of our fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Join me in the spirit, as many of my dear friends do when I go on my prayerwalks, by praying with me on Sunday morning 09:40 for an hour.
The event is the Sir Barry Curtis 10km race. Even though I entered as a walker; I will be prayerwalking!
I am always humbled when I announce my prayerwalks, how people from all over the world let me know how they will be joining me (in the spirit - praying). Some even wheelchair bound, others already in their 80's.
So lets pray for Howick and Pakuranga in Auckland, New Zealand. Pray before the event and let me know what the Lord lays on your heart. We will stand together in that and pray that the Lord will bless this area. That He will draw people to Him in the coming days and that there will be a spiritual revival in this area.
If you live in this area, you are welcome to join me in prayer beyond the finish line at Pakuranga Athletics club (10.40am) or just by walking in the area. After I have finished (hopefully ending within the first 5 walkers!) I would love to meet you and pray with you. I dare you to go for a walk in your area or close to your church and pray. Just step out and do it. You will be blessed.
Howick and Pakuranga, a new day is coming. A new day, bringing with it the new morning, with fresh new mercies and compassions of our God.
Let's embrace that as we celebrate in His faithfulness and draw close to Him.
Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)
It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Here is the list of 39 churches in the Howick/Pakuranga area and I encourage you to pray through the list for each church individually.
Lord, Your love is so deep and so wide.
You know each of these churches and all Your children in them,
I just ask You to bless them with a New Day
and them realising and seeing the New Day
and Your many many mercies and compassions for them.
and that they will just come closer to You
and experience Your love, and mercy in a much deeper way.
In Jesus' name. Amen
